Membership and Boat Ramp Keys
Originally formed in 1948, the purpose of the Association is to promote and encourage measures concerning the health, safety, protection and the betterment of the area of Lake Jackson. The Association represents the Lake Jackson area and its members in affairs with public officials, with civic groups and with other entities of the area. The Association is also organized for the purpose of owning and operating the Common Area of Lake Jackson and to provide recreational facility and activities and to carry our related functions for the maintenance and governance of the same. A member is defined as a real property owner and/or his/her spouse who have paid membership dues and submitted the membership application form for the current year.
Current Keys:
- The boat ramp locks were changed in May 2023 and 2023 keys were distributed in May 2023. Please email [email protected] if you need to obtain a 2023 boat ramp key.
- Membership form, proof of boater safety course, and payment must already be on file and payment cleared prior to exchanging keys. Proof of boater safety class may be shown in person. Details emailed to LJCA members and posted on FB.

- Please make sure it is legible or we will not be able to process the request.
- Note there are two sides and two sections to initial/sign. All information requested must be provided or we will not be able to process the request.

2024 Schedule
Correspondence & Eligibility
Members of the Association will receive all LJCA correspondence via email, including notification of meetings and events. Additionally, correspondence may be shared via social media. Members may vote as part of the Association. The Association requires at least one membership for boat ramp key privileges along with proof of a completed Boat Safety Course.
Member eligibility in the Association is open to real-property owners and their spouses. Real property shall be situated within the geographic boundaries of the Association. Real Property is defined as an estate or property consisting of lands and all appurtenances to lands, as buildings, crops, or mineral rights. For the purpose of membership in the Association, the geographic boundaries of the Association mean the Lake Jackson area, consisting of the Tracts of: BELL, BROWN & HOOFF, CORNWELL, JOHNSON, JONES, LION, McGRATH, PAYNE AND PROUT.
Members must be of voting age in the State of Virginia. Along with their membership application form and membership fees, applicants must present a valid Driver’s License or a valid State-issued ID and a document of ownership (deed, any Government document supporting the Lake Jackson property owned – photo copies are acceptable).
Members will become members in good standing with voting privileges two weeks after application forms and dues are postmarked or received by the Executive Board. Each member in good standing shall be entitled to one vote per paid member (for a maximum of two votes per household) in each of the affairs of the Association. Members may serve on all committees, become an officer on the Executive Board, and may purchase a boat ramp key.

- Locks will change in May, concurrently to the drive thru key exchange dates

- Your 2023 key will work until locks get changed in May
- Please be proactive in sending in membership forms and dues PRIOR to lock change for seamless transactions.
